Pregnancy, Parenthood & Loss

Pregnancy and early parenthood are often described as some of life's happiest moments. But they can also be some of the most emotionally complex.

You may find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed or low. You may be grieving a pregnancy or baby you've lost. You might feel disconnected from your baby, uncertain in your relationship, or simply not recognise yourself anymore.

Sometimes there's no obvious reason at all. Just a quiet sense that something has changed.

For many people, this is the first time life has felt so unfamiliar.

You May Be Coming to Therapy Because...

  • You're feeling anxious during pregnancy or after your baby has arrived.

  • You're struggling with low mood or postnatal depression.

  • You're finding it difficult to adjust to becoming a parent.

  • You're processing a difficult birth or birth trauma.

  • You're navigating fertility treatment or IVF.

  • You've experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or baby loss.

  • You're pregnant again after a previous loss.

  • Your relationship has changed since becoming parents.

  • You're feeling overwhelmed by guilt, shame or the pressure to be a "good" parent.

  • You've lost confidence in yourself or feel you've lost touch with who you are.

  • You simply don't feel like yourself, even if you can't explain why.

You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to come to therapy. Whatever you're experiencing, we'll work together to understand it with curiosity and compassion.

How I Work

Alongside my core integrative training, I have undertaken specialist training in perinatal mental health and infant loss.

That training gives me a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges that can arise during fertility treatment, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. But I don't believe in seeing people through the lens of a diagnosis.

Instead, I'm interested in understanding you.

Together, we'll explore not only what you're experiencing now, but also how your past relationships, life experiences and expectations may be shaping the way you're coping today. By making sense of these experiences with curiosity and compassion, we can begin to create meaningful and lasting change.

A Space That's Yours

So much of pregnancy and parenthood becomes focused on everyone else.

Therapy is one place that's entirely about you.

A place where you don't need to have the answers, hold everything together or pretend you're coping when you're not.

Whether you're navigating pregnancy, adjusting to parenthood or living with the impact of loss, my hope is that you'll leave each session feeling a little more connected to yourself than when you arrived.

If you'd like to find out more, I offer a free 15-minute consultation where we can talk about what's bringing you to therapy and whether working together feels like the right fit.
